Army veteran and former Natick Fire Deptartment Lt. William J. Fannon Sr. died Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Metrowest Medical Center, Leonard Morse Hospital. Fannon, 82, was a lifelong resident of Natick. He received various accolades for his service in the U.S. army. He joined the Natick Fire Dept. in 1955, after which he worked as a lab technician at Leonard Morse Hospital. He was a member of the American Legion and the Natick Elks.

Fannon is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother and sister.
