Natick High School senior, Shannon Gusmini, was the recipient of the 2012-2013 Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program. This program is funded through the Comcast Foundation and recognizes high school seniors from Comcast communities for their commitment to community service, academics, and demonstrated leadership.

Shannon was Captain of the Natick High School Swim Team and has been a member of the winter and summer Town of Natick Swim Teams. She has continued to support the Girl Scout movement since grade school.

Through World Challenge, Shannon went on an expedition to southern Peru this past summer. Here she obtained valuable experience managing the team's budget and assisting with the decision making for transportation, food and accomodation expenses.

The service project involved sanding, plastering, and painting a rural school. Shannon talks about this achievement with enormous pride, appreciating her own personal growth in cultural awareness and global citizenship.

Shannon is hoping to study Nursing at college next year.
