5 Things You Need to Know Today: Oct. 7

Our daily morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.
1. The first frost of the season is expected to cover the ground before 8 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. The rest of the day will be sunny with a high near 60 degrees.
2. In honor of John Lennon's birthday, the Nu-Utopians will perform their own versions of Lennon's greatest songs at the Center for the Arts in Natick beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 for non-members and $30 for members.
3. The Natick Early Childhood Network will hold open gym time for "sturdy walkers" through pre-kindergarten aged children from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Cole Center. For more information call 508-655-2557.
4. The Natick Cooperative Playgroup will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church. Children under age 5 are welcome to participate.
5. The Natick Senior Center will hold a yoga class at 1:45 p.m.
