The new facility is designed to be a meeting spot for town residents, who can gather in common rooms such as the one pictured.

The center's "great room" can seat up to 120 people and can be partitioned into two separate rooms with a dividing wall.

The center will house a variety of committees and boards including Council on Aging and the Recreation and Parks Commission.

I think it is unfortunate that the open house is being held from 1-4, a time when working people and school-aged kids can't easily make it. I hope another open house will be held during evening hours so that the rest of the community can see our new community center.
