Alleged Route 9 Drunk Driver Strikes Nearby Car
The alleged drunk driver hit a neighboring vehicle while driving, forcing it into the Route 9 jersey barrier.
Natick Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Worcester Street near North Main Street around 10:25 p.m. Sunday. An alleged drunk driver, traveling westbound, reportedly hit another vehicle in the neighboring lane, knocking the other car into the jersey barrier, and his own car to spin into the island curb near the off ramp, police said.
The driver of the car that struck the other, Ryan P. Kelley, 27, of 34 Chubb Rd., Framingham, was charged with OUI second offense and a marked lanes volation.
Because the victim's car blocked the passing lane and the other driver's car blocked the breakdown lane, a portion of Route 9 was shut down Sunday night while the accident was cleared. Traffic has since returned to normal.
