This week, we welcomed Rep. David Linsky to our list of talented and passionate bloggers on Natick Patch. In his debut blog post, Linsky discusses legislation he has filed to restrict the height and illumination of the McDonald's signs along the Massachusetts Turnpike, which trouble neighbors who can see the lights from their homes:
"Earlier this month legislation I filed to reduce the signs on the MassPike had a hearing before the Joint Committee on Transportation. Whenever I talk about this bill it without fail elicits some laughs and smirks from the crowd. Though it might seem like a funny issue to file a bill about to the people affected by large bright signs at the Pike service stations, it is a very serious matter."—Blinded by the Light, by Rep. David Linsky
Also this week, blogger and Natick native Jimmy Brown shares his thoughts about Natick youth sports and shares his experiences growing up in town:
"There is no question that education is goal one for the schools. In my opinion, sports are as big a part of the education process as books and computers are. Many young men and women, going through our public schools, have physical talents that could lead, not only to acceptance to a highly rated college or university, but to a possible professional sports career as well."
