The search was conducted by trained law enforcement dog handlers and supervised by the Natick Police Department. It last 30 minutes and during that time students stayed in the classrooms while teachers continued their lessons.
Natick High School principal Rose Bertucci told the Globe that she felt it was a good sign that the dogs only alerted twice when there are 1,400 students.
Natick school administrators sent home a letter in November letting parents know that they intended to use drug dogs to promote a "drug-free environment."

The school and the lockers are their property so the search is legal. They cannot and should not search around cars (private property, doesn't matter where they are located) without a warrant. They need to show cause, the search was illegal and they should be ashamed. The gov't at all levels needs to respect and follow the Constitution.
