In this week's Patch Picks, we've shared five great nonprofit organizations in town that you should know about. Click on the links below for the listings to find out more information.
1. A Place to Turn: This food pantry provides locals with food, toiletries and clothing to those who might not be able to afford the items otherwise. On Thursday, every Patch employee in the country was encouraged to get out in their communities and volunteer. Natick Patch editor volunteered at A Place to Turn. Return to Natick Patch tomorrow for a letter from the editor.
2. Natick Service Council: With its offices located in the Natick Housing Authority, the Natick Service Council runs a food pantry, health and dental care and an obesity prevention and education program.
3. Natick Community Organic Farm: This certified organic farm has been providing Natick with organic foods and educational opportunities to the community since it opened in 1974.
4. The Laboratory Safety Institute: This international nonprofit has been helping scientists and science teachers promote the safest conditions possible in their labs.
5. Brandon School and Residential Treatment Center: The school and treatment center assists troubled boys who have had difficulties in public schools, as well as their families.
