For 45 years, Natick Cab has been getting locals where they need to go. And on special holidays when it's more difficult to convince someone to be the designated driver, many people are counting on the company to drop them off at their door safely after a long night of celebrating. 

Natick Cab Manager Dan Gilbert says business skyrockets during the holidays through New Year's, climbing even higher than the roughly 40 to 60 calls they receive on a normal weekend night during the year.

The cab service will run until at least midnight on New Year's Eve this year and will pick up customers from bars and clubs in Framingham. They charge a rate of $4.50 for the first mile and $3 for each additional mile, but Gilbert says it is worth the price. "It costs less to take a cab than it does to deal with an OUI," he said. 

The company has four door sedan cabs and mini-vans for larger groups. The regular hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 4:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
