Have You Been Threatened by a Turkey?
A recent incident in which a mailman was attacked by a turkey in Natick has prompted residents to share their own experiences with fending off turkeys in town.
Natick Police were called on Tuesday when a mailman was attacked by a turkey while on his route on Huron Dr.
While the turkey was gone upon the officers arrival, some Natick residents shared their stories of similar encounters with a turkey in town via the Natick Patch Facebook page. Not to be lost in the fun stories that people told- the mailman was okay.
Reader Ansori Nawawi saw a turkey in the middle of Oak St. near the Pine St. junction just last week, while Laura Rooney Brill said her husband was late coming home after dropping their son off at school one day and said it was because a turkey was standing in front of the car and he couldn't get in.
Chris Fay said the turkey has been on Tech Circle since before July 4 and the turkey is "quite fearless." Fay even thought to snap a picture of the turkey on top of his car.
Lastly, reader Jan Darlene Hastings has a suggestion to keep yourself safe from turkeys: "Umbrellas - best defense. You open them and keep them between you and the turkey!"

Every Saturday my husband takes my 4y/o son to Frozen Ropes baseball on Tech Circle in Natick. There has been a mean turkey in the parking lot for months. This turkey taunts people who come in & out of the lot and go into the baseball center. I tried to get my child in the car one day & the turkey chased us & my husband had to move the car because the turkey wouldn't let them get out of the car either. I've also seen this same turkey at Longfellow Sports Club & he's a huge menace. My son is scared to go to baseball because he thinks they'll be attacked by the turkey!
