VIDEO: Heavy Rains Create Flash Flooding

Rainfall has already caused flooding in some areas of Natick.

With Hurricane Irene on its way to Natick, rainfall has already started to cause flooding across town, making roads potentially unsafe for travel. The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the area until 6:15 p.m.

According to the WBZ weather team, 1.5 inches or more of rain has fallen in town and the worst is yet to come. The bulk of the storm is expected to hit Sunday, with an additional 3 to 4 inches of rainfall possible, according to the National Weather Service.

The town of Natick has encouraged residents to finish preparing for the Hurricane as soon as possible, since Gov. Deval Patrick declared a state of emergency for Massachusetts beginning Friday night.
