Lightning Sparks House Fire on Hemlock Drive

Natick firefighters responded to extinguish the blaze.

A lightning strike resulted in a house fire at 28 Hemlock Dr. around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday evening, according to Natick Fire Chief, James Sheridan.

The Natick Fire Department extinguished the blaze in around 25 minutes, using three fire engines, a ladder truck and 17 firefighters.

"The fire primarily was contained to the attic space, it ran across the attic," Sheridan said. "There wasn't a lot of damage to their personal property."

Michael Garber, the home's owner, said he and his family weren't home when the fire started.

"We got a call from our neighbor, he just said our house was hit by lightning," Garber said.
