Grafton resident was arrested after a Natick Police Department investigation.
A Grafton man was arraigned in Natick District Court on Tuesday and held on $5,000 cash bail with numerous conditions including No Contact with the victim or any person under the age of 18 after being arrested and charged by Natick Police with two sexual crimes having to do with minors:
- Engaging in Sexual Conduct for a Fee with a Child Under 18 (the Statute includes Attempting to do so)
- Enticing a Child Under 18 to Engage in Prostitution Using Electronic Device
Michael Donald Kieft, 64, who lives at 79 Londonderry Rd. in Grafton, could face up to 10 years in state prison for the first charge, while the second charge could earn him as much as five years in a state prison.
Kieft was arrested following an investigation by the Natick Police Department. According to Natick Police Lt. Brian Grassey, police were contacted on Saturday, Dec. 15 by a parent of a minor child informing them that the child had received text messages of a sexual nature from a known individual.
"Surveillance was established at the time and place documented in the investigation," Grassey wrote in an email. "At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17 the target vehicle was observed in the area ultimately stopping near the victim's address. After confirming the identification of the driver he was placed under arrest without incident."
Grassey also wanted to let parents know the value of good communication with children.
"As investigators and, more importantly, as parents, we would like to stress the importance of keeping an open dialogue with your children."
