Natick Chooses O'Brien's for Taxes

The family-owned business is the winner of this week's "Best of Patch: Readers' Choice" poll.

With the April 17 tax filing deadline just around the corner, tax preparation is (or should be) on everyone's mind.

That's why we asked you this week, Natick, where you believe the best place is in town to get your taxes done.

After a week of voting, you've spoken, and crowned O'Brien Tax as your local winner.

"We're here to serve the community," said Bernice Begley, who bought the business in 2000 from Bill O'Brien, who started the firm in 1955.

"We've been serving families for generations," Begley said. "Bill started with the grandparents; now we're doing their grandchildren's taxes."

O'Brien's specializes in personal tax returns, and returns for self-employed workers.

Begley said she decided yesterday not to take any new clients for tax preparation this year, unless they need help filing for an extension.

O'Brien's has six employees, including Begley.

"People liken us to going to the dentist, but usually when they leave, they find it has been a more enjoyable experience than they thought," she said.

Congratulations, O'Brien's!

Next week, return to Natick Patch to vote on where the best local place is to buy sporting goods.
