Natick's Top Stories in February
It may be the shortest month of the year, but that doesn't mean a lot didn't happen in February. Here are some of the top stories that happened this month in Natick.
February might be a slow month compared to January when you take into account it's shorter and many people go away during school vacation.
But there's still a lot going on here in Natick, so we decided to take a quick peak back at some of the top stories from the past month.
The biggest news had to be snow. Lots of snow. More snow than many people could remember ever seeing at once. We tried to keep you up-to-date with our Blizzard 2013 Storm Center, updating it throughout the day for nearly three whole days. Gov. Deval Patrick even issued an order keeping people off the streets at one point, which is nearly unheard of.
The blizzard gave us lots to discuss, as we asked you to upload photos to show us what you had seen and to see what you were able to capture with your cameras. We got to see nearly 60 different pictures!
And how about the horse that got stuck in the snow? Firefighters were able to help rescue him, and it gave us a happy ending to a story that had the chance to go another way.
The storm led to several questions on how to handle emergency/disaster/various weather situations. Many people had differing opinions on how well the DPW did with the plowing in town, but it seemed like everyone had some opinion.
