Recent Deaths: R. Scott Sawyer, Albert DiPietro

This column features recent deaths of Natick residents and natives.

 

 

  • Albert DiPietro of Natick died on March 17. DiPietro was well-know for playing renaissance and baroque period music on his trumpet, performing at weddings and church services. He was a teacher and chairman of the Preparatory Brass Department at the New England Conservatory of Music and taught at Tufts University, creating the Tufts Brass Ensemble. He also taught at Cambridge's Longy School of Music and Belmont's Powers School of Music. DiPietro was a trumpet player in the Boston Chamber Opera, Portland Symphony. Visiting hours will be March 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. at John Everett & Songs Funeral Home.
