Town Honors Senior Man and Woman of the Year
Dottie McGrath and Tom Swan are the 2012 Senior Man and Woman of the Year.
The Natick Senior Man of Woman of 2012 were officially recognized at the Board of Selectmen Monday night. Tom Swan and Dorothy "Dottie" McGrath earned this year's honor.
"I would like to thank all the people who voted for me and all the people that nominated me and all my coworkers and staff at the senior center for being so helpful and kind," said McGrath. McGrath moved to Natick in 1961 and has three children, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She has volunteered for the Natick Human Services Department and the Council on Aging.
Swan moved to Natick in 1959 from Watertown, where he grew up. He has worked as the treasurer at the Natick Senior Center for more than 10 years and is a member of the Friends of the Natick Senior Center, teaching seniors to use computers. Swan is also a Korean War veteran.
A dinner will be held to honor the Senior Man and Woman of the Year on Tuesday, May 29 at 5:30 p.m. at the Natick Lodge of Elks at 95 Speen Street. Tickets are available for purchase at the Natick Senior Center at 90 Oak St. for $16 through May 18. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
