Van Knocks Wires On Car; Causes Detours, Outages
There are several detours in town because of a car vs. pole crash Wednesday morning.
A moving van unknowingly got caught this morning in some utility wires on Bacon Street, causing a pole to fall on a Mercedes and tie up traffic in the area, police said.
There were no injuries in the crash, reported to police after 8:30 a.m. As of 10:45 a.m., there were detours in place at Walnut and Bacon, Bacon and Oak, and Marion and North Avenue.
Natick Police Lt. Brian Grassey said a moving van was traveling on Bacon Street, and got snagged on a wire. The wire was pulled, and it knocked down a pole, which fell on a 2010 Mercedes traveling behind the van.
The driver of the Mercedes was not injured, but had to wait for NStar to arrive and cut power to the area. Meanwhile, the van continued driving and was pulled over at 9:15 a.m. by police in Dover.
The State Police Truck Enforcement team is investigating.
