You may be right, Jenna, I saw 5-6 people turn right while the light was red in just a few minutes while I walking before I decided to video it to see if other people thought it was a common thing. I'm not sure when those signs first appeared, but it's something that might be worth looking into. Thanks for your comment.

You could turn on red at Rt 27/ Rt 135 until the genius' in Natick put in the crosswalks.

I spoke to the town about why they put in the no turn on red signs. They said they did it because there were several near accidents because the crosswalks going across Rt 135 at the intersection are not at the corner but around the corner 15 feet.

Before the genius' put in the brick crosswalks, the crosswalks were painted and all went directly from the center of the corners. But when they put in the brick, they for some unknown reason moved the 135 crosswalks down the street 15 feet. Now they are a "danger". They were stupid in the design and now they need to fix their screw up by making it 'no turn on red'

Thanks for your comment, Frank. There are definitely quite a few dangerous intersections where people enter Route 9. I think some of the places where you can pull out of a business's parking lot and right onto the road are pretty unsafe as well.

Exactly, Ms. Fisher. They need to be placed better. In some cases they should place two signs. The ones on the traffic light booms are great during the day for most people, but not for all people. And they are invisible after dark. Adding a lower sign on the side of the road would help avoid people believing that the no-turn policy is a ticket trap.

They need to fix the placement of the brick crosswalks to the corners and not 15 ft around the corner on the 135 sides. Then it would be a turn on red after stop again and relieve some of the traffic. The screwed up the design, they were always from corner before the yuppie brick crosswalks.

I was driving earlier where RT 9 and Harvard/Speen St. intersect and I think you're right- that's certainly a tricky intersection. Has anyone else noticed this one?

That intersection should be reconstructed so that cars all stop where they can see what other cars are already stopped on other streets. The stop line for cars going north on Walnut is way too far from the center of the intersection. And that split yellow line on Bacon Street does not conform to any road design standard that I know. The town might also consider either making Chestnut one-way at that intersection or curbing over the end of Chestnut altogether.

There is no stop sign on Rt 27 where there but the nitwits decide to stop. They cause accidents. Why would no stop on 27 where there is no stop sign. Bad bad drivers.

Thanks for the insight, Rachael! I think yield signs tend to cause trouble everywhere, and I absolutely hate those right turns from the left lane.

Speen and Rt 27 do not intersect, they are parallel and miles apart. Are you getting your roads mixed up?
