Who's Your Favorite President?

Presidents Day is today, which made us wonder which President is Natick's favorite.

Today is Presidents Day, and as we honor our past Presidents as well as our current one, it's easy to see that the men who have served our Nation as President have come from a wide variety of backgrounds with assorted viewpoints and many different styles of leadership.

On Wednesday we asked readers on our Facebook Page who their favorite President was. With 43 possible answers (remember, President Obama is 44th in the numbering, but Grover Cleveland is counted twice at 22 and 24), a large selection was available for the choosing. But we received some common responses.

Abraham Lincoln received several votes, as did FDR. Bill Clinton also received a couple of votes, as did JFK. Obama even received a couple of votes while still in office. The only Republican to receive a nomination, by the way, was Ronald Reagan.

Now we want to ask you what you think. Who is your favorite President? Is it one of the names who has already been nominated? Or is your favorite President not on this list yet? Tell us in the comments section below.

Lincoln is my favorite for sure. Also, Reagan as a contemporary favorite president. Although, for the sake of their respective periods or eras Roosevelt and Washington were dynamic leaders.

Just for clarification, Abraham Lincoln one of the top vote getters was a Republican so two of your top five are Republicans. My favorite President was Thomas Jefferson, in addition to being a remarkable writer/inventor he opened the westward expansion of the nation with the Louisiana Purchase. George Washington wrote the book on being the President. Abraham Lincoln would round out my top three.

Thanks for the correction, Jamie. Bad oversight on my part, as Lincoln was even the first Republican President.

And Lincoln's Republican Party, as every thinking person knows, has far more in common with the Democratic Party today than it has to do with the Republican Party. Lincoln would've given short shift to Reagan: read Lincoln's letters and speeches. It's pretty clear that he cared about the UNION and the POOR and the UNDER-REPRESENTED and the DISENFRANCHISED. Picture him on the topic of Mitt Romney...

And remember, Lincoln's re-election was as the head of the National Union Party...
