My artist friend Carl and I were recently talking about the use of art and the idea of selling things that are not a staple necessity of life - like milk, eggs, and bread. The question is...what is the function of art in your life? In this age of fast-paced technology, there seems to be a counter-culture of returning to the hand-made. Objects that are hand-hewn and crafted by a personal touch bring a certain comfort and nostalgia to our lives. This Sunday, July 1st, you can check out an intimate affair at Shaw Park in South Natick. The South Natick Art in the Park will feature the hand-hewn work of eighteen local artists, as they present their work to you. There will also be performing artists, for your enjoyment. Bring your friends and family and join us for a comforting human touch.

Thanks for the heads up, Dianne! I read your blog and then was going to ask you what time this was - then I saw the signs in the picture that say 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. So, that answers that question. :-)
