At a board meeting Tuesday night, Morse Tavern owners John and Sharon Stounaras tried to persuade the Board of Selectmen to support their proposal to offer Keno in their family-owned restaurant. The longtime owners, however, were met with concerns that a vote of approval would change the business' atmosphere for the worse and set a dangerous precedent in town. If Keno machines were to be allowed at the tavern, it would be the first restaurant in town to do so. Selectmen expressed concerns that approval would draw different crowds to the business, making it less family-friendly and setting a …

The Board of Selectmen voted Monday night to support a reprecincting plan that would have minimal impact on the current precinct lines. At the last selectmen's meeting, the Reprecincting Committee presented two options to the board: option one, which was ultimately chosen by a unanimous vote, and option two, which would more drastically change the current precinct lines, splitting neighborhoods. At the previous meeting, the committee spoke in favor of option two in hope that spreading the apartments over several precincts would increase voter turnout. In Natick, precinct lines are re-…
Natick’s precinct lines may soon change due to changes in population in certain areas of town. The Board of Selectmen heard two plans from Reprecincting Committee chairman Joshua Ostroff Monday night, one of which would more significantly change precinct lines and split neighborhoods. The selectmen must vote to approve on new precincts by June 15. Ostroff said the selectmen review the lines after each census and when the population in one or more precincts varies from the other by more than five percent, a law he said is not common in many other towns. The challenge, said Ostroff, is …
