WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease will receive a generous donation of nearly $1 million dollars from the national off price retailer, Burlington Coat Factory.  A check presentation and heart health screening will be held at the retailer’s Natick, MA store location on National Women’s Checkup Day as part of National Women’s Health Week.

Funds were generated as a result of the retailer’s first-ever Red Dress event hosted from February through Easter, in support of women’s heart health, which ran in all Burlington locations throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Donations raised will advance WomenHeart’s free support services and educational programs for women living with heart disease in communities throughout the country, and will also enable the organization to begin a concerted effort to educate and support Hispanic women – a high risk population for heart disease.
