17 Natick Residents to Participate in Jimmy Fund Walk

Here are 5 things to know in Natick.

1. On Sept. 8, 17 residents from Natick will walk up to 26.2 miles along the historic Boston Marathon® route in the 25th anniversary of the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai. They will be among the 8,500 walkers expected to participate with the collective goal of raising more than $7 million to support lifesaving adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund. The Natick residents are:

2. According to an ESPN report, Natick wide receiver Brian Dunlap is out for the season with a foot fracture.

He suffered the injury in the Redhawks' first scrimmage of the preseason, against Holliston. 

3. Boy Scout Troop 1775 is planning a bottle and can drive in October to raise money for its winter activities.

Redeemable bottles and cans can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 5 at Lilja Elementary School.

4. Natick's Bookmobile will visit Natick Common on Sept. 7 in celebration of National Library Card Sign-up Month.
