Class of 2018 Parent Curriculum Night Scheduled at NHS

Here are 5 things to know today in Natick.

1. An informational program for parents/guardians of students currently in grade 8 at Kennedy, Wilson, charter and private schools will be conducted on Jan. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Natick High School.

Information will be presented relating to selecting courses for grade 9 and planning a four-year high school program. High School department heads will be presenting information regarding course offerings for ninth graders. A representative from Keefe Tech will also present information.

High school counselors will visit Natick middle schools in January to provide the students with scheduling materials and information about course selection. Middle school counselors will be meeting with grade 8 students to work out grade 9 programs of study beginning in February.

2. In coordination with the Lilja principal, the PTA will sponsor a community book discussion of Carol Dweck's Mindset on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m.

More information will be sent out to families in the coming weeks.

You can find more information on the Lilja principal's blog.

3. Tired of being at home with just your family? Come on out for a fantastic evening of games with the Johnson School community. Instead of a PTO meeting this month, have milk and cookies, and bring a game or two and your family and spend the evening playing games together. This is an excellent opportunity to spend some relaxed time together and play those new games from the holidays with each other.

Make sure to label your games and note this is a family event, not a drop-off.

4. In case you missed it: Speed and Agility Session for Girls Soccer & Lacrosse Athletes.
