Kennedy 8th-Graders Holding September 11 Memorial Activities

Here are 5 things to know today in Natick.

1. The eighth-grade class at Kennedy Middle School will conduct activities from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Sept. 11 to honor this date. The class will honor the work of public safety personnel, have a discussion panel about the events of that day, and celebrate and study Phillipe Petit's historic tightrope walk between the WTC towers in 1974.

2. Frozen Ropes of Natick, NIKE and Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester are partnering for a special baseball clinic at the Ebersol Fields in Boston. The event benefits Jon Lester's foundation Never Quit, which supports local families and children who have been affected by cancer.

A bus will pick up players at the facility by 3:30 p.m. and will transport players to Boston and back. Frozen Ropes staff and parents will serve as chaperones on the bus.
