Natick High School Names Jack Wagner Student of the Week

Here are 5 things to know today in Natick.

1. Freshman Jack Gagner has shown extreme commitment to music over the past few weeks both in the school setting and in his personal endeavors, Natick High School said in a release on Oct. 11 in naming him Student of the Week. He was recently accepted as principal trombone in two community youth wind ensembles.

2. Do you or your child need a flu vaccine? There will be a family flu clinic for Natick residents on Oct. 30 at the Bennett-Hemenway School from noon to 3 p.m. There is no cost for the vaccine, but the school will submit paperwork to your insurance. Bring your insurance card with you.

3. The annual fall hydrant flushing program will commence on Oct. 15 and will continue over the next several weeks throughout the town. The streets that may be affected this week are listed below.

The hours of operation will be 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. depending on the particular area. It is expected that some discoloration and disturbance of the water in the area of work will occur while the program is in progress and consumers should check the clarity of their water prior to use. In the event that rust or sediment is present, wait approximately 2 hours for any disturbance that was caused by the flushing to settle and run the cold water faucet nearest the water meter until clear. DO NOT RUN THE HOT WATER UNTIL THE COLD WATER IS CLEAR.  The Water Department apologizes for any inconvenience that may occur as a result of this program. Additional information including as to when we will be in a particular area can be obtained by checking the Natick DPW website atwww.natickma.gov.  If you have any questions, contact the Water Department at (508) 647-6557.
