Natick Resident Named to Mock Trial Team at Saint Anselm College

Here are 5 things to know today in Natick.

1. Katlyn Delaney of Natick, a nursing major and member of Saint Anselm College's class of 2016, has been named to the college's Mock Trial team of 2014 and will be competing in the Northeast Regional tournament from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2.

Organized by the American Mock Trial Association and hosted at Saint Anselm College, the Northeast regionals consist of four rounds of competition with Round 1 on Friday evening; Rounds 2 and 3 on Saturday; Round 4 concludes the weekend on Sunday, which will then be followed by an Awards Banquet in Davison Hall.

The top seven teams will receive a bid to an Opening Round Championship Series (ORCS) tournament in March. After the ORCS round, the top six teams from each ORCS tournament will receive a bid to the National Championship Tournament in Florida in April.

2. More than 1,900 students have made the Fall 2013 Dean's List at Coastal Carolina University.

To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average. To qualify for the President's List, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average. All students must be enrolled full time.

3. Keith Jarvis, a resident of Natick, has been named to the Champlain College President's List as a full-time student achieving a Fall 2013 semester grade point average of 4.0. Jarvis is majoring in web design and development.
