Volunteers Needed to Help Spruce Up Downtown Natick

Here are 5 things to know today in Natick.

1. The Town of Natick is participating in the Marathon Daffodil project and planting along Route 135 (Town Hall, Police station, etc.) on Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Nov. 2. (a Girl Scout project coordinated by Pat Conaway). Art Goodhind, supervisor of land and natural resources for the town will distribute bulbs to local businesses along route 135 and the town common including the Sovereign Bank, Hogan Tire, Natick Animal Clinic, Honey Dew, the Common Street Church, and more businesses for which he is waiting confirmation.
They are are looking to:
  • Recruit volunteers to plant on Oct. 26;
  • Reach out to businesses and organizations along the marathon route that would like to plant bulbs on their property (bulbs will be provided at no cost);
  • Spread the word to homeowners who would like to participate by purchasing and planting bulbs.

2. The Johnson School PTO is looking for first-grade parents to help with the Johnson Flicks movie next week. Continuing with its theme this year of "Each Person Helping Just a Little Bit" to support the whole community, each grade level will lead a different movie throughout the year, and we will look for support with small, specific tasks such as filling in the attendance list spreadsheet the day before, setting up chairs before the movie or cleaning up at pick-up.  Contact Lynn Rodriguez at lynnmrod@gmail.com to volunteer.

3. The next Brown School PTO meeting is scheduled for Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. Superintendent Peter Sanchioni will speak. Free babysitting is available.
