Local Salon and Spa Offers Complimentary Program For Women Battling Cancer

MEDFIELD, Mass., April 7, 2014 – jaie3, a salon, spa and beautique, is pleased to announce Reflect & Restore Mondays, a complimentary program for women coping with a diagnosis of cancer. The program, which will take place every second Monday of the month, is designed to provide pampering, relaxation and companionship as well as a forum for women to share their experiences and hear from guest speakers. The next program will take place on Monday, April 14 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.
In the US alone, about 1,665,540 new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed this year. Among MA residents, nearly 38,000 will be diagnosed with cancer and among MA women, the most commonly diagnosed cancer types will be breast, lung, colon and uterine.
“A diagnosis of cancer can be a very frightening, overwhelming and stressful time for women as they go through being diagnosed, to treatment and beyond”, said Victoria Collotta, co-owner, jaie3. Co-program Coordinator Kelly Short explains “We developed Reflect & Restore Mondays to provide an experience that allows women to relax, alleviate stress, feel beautiful, and spend time with other women fighting the same brave battle.”
Reflect & Restore Mondays begins with gentle yoga or guided meditation then the women are treated to complimentary salon and spa services from a list of choices including aromatherapy massage, facials, hair services, reiki, waxing, manicures and pedicures, reflexology, and cosmetic services. The program will also have special events and speakers throughout the year. For their April 14 event, they will feature both Rose Collaran, a Health Coach certified in nutritional counseling and Eileen Vallanti, an Energy Healer and former oncology nurse.
