Brown School Weekly Newsletter

New council members introduced.

I pleased to announce that two of our community members, Marissa Farrell and Pinky Jose, have volunteered to participate on the Brown School Council for the next two years. Please read their introductions below to learn a little more about them. I'm am looking forward to working with Marissa and Pinky.

My name is Marissa Farrell. I have 2 boys at Brown School, one in first grade and one in fourth grade. 2 Years ago I was a member of the School Council but had to take last year off due to a work conflict. During my school council time I was also a member of the team which coordinated the new courtyard classroom. I've spent my career taking care of people as a yoga instructor for 17 years, a doula for 8 years,  a childbirth educator for 5 years, and for the past year I've wrapped myself in my new focus -  consultant in nutrition. I look forward to the connections to Brown, and the students and families of Brown, which being on school council provides.

My name is Pinky Jose and I am the mother of a first grader at Brown School. She holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from a premier institute in India and has held responsible positions as banking professional in leading banks like HSBC, Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU) and Sovereign Bank. She assumed the role of a full time mom when she realized that her family needed more attention.

Pinky has been living in Natick, with her family, since 2005. Since last year, she has been a room parent, a library volunteer and has also volunteered for various other Brown School activities. She has now come forward to be a part of the School Council, so she could utilize her leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills towards the betterment of the school improvement plan.
