In tough economic times like these, businesses all over the country are struggling to keep their doors open, while others are accepting the challenge and opening. Periodically, we'll feature the business changes happening in Natick, highlighting old businesses that we're sad to see go and ones we're excited to try in the future.
The following are a few of the most recent Natick business updates:
- If you've been anywhere near Sears in the in the past week or so, the opening of Doc Popcorn is no secret to you. Located in the open space downstairs right outside Sears and Dunkin' Donuts, the brand new popcorn stand fills the whole wing of the mall with the smell of the buttery snack. But it's not just buttered popcorn they offer—Doc popcorn prides itself on natural flavors, including Sinfully Cinnamon, Hoppin' Jalapeño, Triple White Cheddar, Salt-n-Pepper, Cheesy Cheddar, Caramel Kettle, Classic Kettle and Sweet Butter. You can buy a small bag for just over $4 or pay $15 for an enormous bag you and 10 friends would have trouble eating. Larger tins are also available to take home. Considering the fact that I have driven to the movie theater just for the popcorn, this new snack stand is welcome in my book.
- Bill's Pizzeria is now open where Natick Pizza Palace used to be located. we took in the newly designed restaurant the first full day they were open.
- It's still a few months away, but we wanted to let you all know that Doctors Express is expected to open in town in July in the former Blockbuster location on Route 9. Doctors Express offers urgent care and can take care of anything from cuts to x-rays and prescriptions. Most insurance plans are accepted.
