Larry the Cable Guy Features Natick Labs on 'Only in America'

See what the Natick Soldier Systems Center is doing to keep Army personnel safe on the History Channel show.

Stand-up comedian and self-proclaimed history buff Larry the Cable Guy took a trip to Natick Soldier Systems Center for his History Channel show "Only in America" recently and this week people across the country will be able to see what happens right here in Natick.

According to an article posted on the United States Army website, the Cable Guy tries out a few adaptive technologies that help make the lives of soldiers better and even finds one way to make his own life easier.

"Larry began his day at the Load Carriage Design Lab, which devised a modular chest rig to hold his beer, cigars, lighter and TV remote control," the Army article reads.

He also checked out an ammo carriage system called The Ironman, competed in a combat simulation and ate some Army applesauce.

"I knew it was going to be awesome," Larry said of the visit. "I love meeting the troops. I love seeing the things that they use out there and what they go through."
