LOCAL MEAL KIT DELIVERY SERVICE JUST ADD COOKING ACQUIRES BROOKLINE-BASED SARA’S SUPPER CLUB

NATICK—Just Add Cooking, which provides a flexible subscription of weekly dinner kits, has announced its acquisition of Sara’s Supper Club, a Brookline-based company that offers a similar service. Just Add Cooking will provide uninterrupted services to Sara’s Supper Club customers on an opt-in basis.

The two companies, both owned by Swedish natives, will be merging their customer bases and Just Add Cooking’s operations will be servicing customers, effective immediately. Just Add Cooking delivers fresh meal kits to the doors of their customers on a flexible subscription basis, providing the ingredients and recipes for home-cooked meals in 30 minutes.

Just Add Cooking opened its doors in early 2013, the brainchild of two Swedish dads who used a similar service in their home country and noticed a lack of options for delivered fresh meal kits in the Boston area. The company has quickly become a go-to for busy families in Eastern Massachusetts, and when Sara Hart of Sara’s Supper Club decided to close her doors, the fit was natural.
