“We are pleased to add the Steward family of physicians and hospitals to our members,” said Thomas Policelli, Minuteman’s Chief Executive Officer.  “Our member-governed plan is dedicated to providing excellent care throughout the region at an affordable price; having Steward in the network is a strong addition. We encourage anyone reviewing our information on the Connector site to remember that the 3,000 Steward physicians and 11 hospitals will be added to the Connector website as soon as possible.  Please revisit the Connector website in the coming weeks if you do not see your physician listed yet.”

New to the market this year, Minuteman Health is a member-governed, non-profit health plan that seeks to remove inefficiencies from today’s health insurance system in order to lower administrative costs, provide better quality care, and lower health care premiums.

Based in Boston, Steward Health Care System has more than 17,000 employees serving more than one million patients annually in more than 150 communities. Hospitals in the system include Carney Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, Merrimack Valley Hospital, Morton Hospital, Nashoba Valley Medical Center, New England Sinai Hospital, Norwood Hospital, Quincy Medical Center, St. Anne’s Hospital, and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.

With the addition of Steward, the Minuteman Health provider network has grown to 26 hospitals and over 6,000 physicians, including Tufts Medical Center, Tenet Healthcare, the New England Quality Care Alliance (NEQCA), and Lahey Health. The new partners share the same business model on being a low-price leader in the provision of high quality care.
