Natick resident Allison Chen named manager of Great Ideas program at STCC

Allison Chen, of Natick, has been named manager of Great Ideas at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC). Chen brings her experience in business analysis, customer experience and satisfaction planning, and service delivery with her to STCC and was previously employed by Fidelity Investments in Smithfield, RI.

In her new position at STCC, Chen will serve as manager of Great Ideas, a “Voice of the Associate” program implemented at the college in 2011 to better serve the campus community. STCC employees meet weekly to identify programs or opportunities throughout the campus and assist with creating solutions to providing outstanding service to STCC students. “Great Ideas at STCC” has implemented over 1,500 employee ideas with a projected cost savings to the college of over $700,000.

“I’m honored to be a part of STCC’s Great Ideas program, which can serve as a model for other local employers and colleges,” said Chen. “Currently, STCC is the only area college that has implemented this kind of program. My goal is to continue to engage our employees so we can provide a positive work environment, collaborate across departments to solve campus-wide problems and focus on achieving our goal of being the best in the region at preparing our students for careers. We encourage our employees to solve problems that have a direct impact on student success.”
