Linsky Announces Cultural Facilities Funding for TCAN

Representative David Linsky today announced that The Center for the Arts in Natick, better known as TCAN, was awarded a $180,000 grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund to construct a second performance space on the second floor.

“People come from all over Massachusetts to attend the performances at TCAN and TCAN has played a major role in making Natick Center a cultural district and the overall economic redevelopment of the area. When people come to TCAN, they don’t just go to a show, they eat dinner in one of the many local restaurants, and they shop in the stores in Natick Center.” said Representative Linsky. “This grant will allow TCAN to further expand its program offerings by creating a new performance space and further enhance the Natick Center Cultural District.”

TCAN was awarded the grant through the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund, which awarded nearly $14 million in grants across the Commonwealth to support nonprofit arts and cultural organizations. TCAN was one of only four capital grants awarded to a MetroWest organization.

In 2013 over 24,000 patrons attended an event at TCAN and 1,764 members committed to TCAN.
