The Natick Friends of the Fourth have announced that there will be no 4th of July parade in Natick this year.
In announcing the cancellation, they cited a lack of volunteers and time to prepare as the reasons. They did note, though, that there would still be other events.
The annual 4th of July parade has been a popular event among residents in Natick and Framingham, where many residents would put out chairs overnight to reserve their seats along Route 135.
A few years ago the joint Natick-Framingham fireworks were cancelled, making the parade the second Independence Day tradition to come to an end within the past few years.
