Mosquito Control to Spray Natick Neighborhoods

Mosquito spraying in Natick is scheduled to continue through the coming weeks.

Mosquito season has just begun, which means rounds of insect investigations and pesticide spraying for Central Mass. Mosquito Control.

Specialists from the organization will be heading to mosquito hangouts over the next few weeks to control the adult population of the insect with strategic spraying of pesticides.

But residents have some say in all the bug slaying. They can choose to exclude the area around their property from the anti-mosquito chemicals.

"Some people are just philosophically opposed, some have an increased sensitivity to the chemicals, Tim Deschamps, director of the Central Mass. Mosquito Control Project, said.

If the insects are a problem for an area of town, residents can ask Mosquito Control to carry out an investigation of how reduce their numbers.

Due to an unusually dry spring, mosquitoes are slightly fewer in numbers than usual, Deschamps said.
