Get A+ info on Medicare Part D

Is there anything more confusing than Medicare?  With over 30 years in the field of long term care, even I do not profess to understand all of the ins and outs of our national insurance program.  Adding to the confusion is the addition of the drug benefit known as Part D.  In order to receive this benefit, a person with Medicare must enroll in a stand-alone Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) or Medicare Advantage plan with prescription drug coverage (MA-PD). These plans are approved and regulated by the Medicare program, but are actually designed and administered by private health insurance companies and private drug companies such as CVS that are sanctioned by Medicare.
Changes to Medicare Part D are coming in 2014, and you’ll want to make your best choice from among some often-confusing options.
Whitney Place in Natick is offering a free program that will allow you to come learn about this prescription drug coverage program, and how those changes may affect the way you get your medications, from experts in the field. For coping with Part D, knowledge is the best medicine.
Presented by Colleen Massey, M.S., Director of Operations, School of Pharmacy with Tim Aungst, PharmD, Assistant Professor, School of Pharmacy, both of MCPHS University Pharmacy Outreach this program will in the community room at Whitney Place on Tuesday, November 26th from 6-7 pm.  Check out the full event listing on the Natick Patch events page.
