"Autism Spectrum Disorders: An Overview" A TECPA Program Presented by Karen Levine, Ph.D.

With one in 110 children diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum there is an increasing need for understanding of this population. TECPA is proud
to have a highly respected expert and author in this field joining us to provide an introduction to the challenges, strengths and the needs of children with Autism, PDD-NOS, and Aspergers Disorder. The
presentation will feature video clip examples of children, as well as
resources for educators, therapists and parents.

Karen Levine, Ph.D., is an Instructor in Psychology, Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a practicing Psychologist in Lexington MA. She was the co-founder and co-director of the Autism program at Boston Children's Hospital in the 1990s, and of the Autism Center at Cambridge Health Alliance. With Naomi Chedd, she co-authored Replays: Using Play to Enhance Emotional and Behavioral Development for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Treatment Planning for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders: An Individualized, Problem-Solving Approach (Wiley 2012).

The Early Childhood Professional Associations (TECPA)'s Professional Development Programs are designed specifically to meet the needs of early childhood and elementary educators, afterschool professionals, program administrators, and family childcare providers.

TECPA events include a light dinner at 6:00 pm with program running from 6:30-8:30. Cost per person is $25.00 and participants may register online to attend.
