Caregiver Care Program at Natick Community-Senior Center: “Balance matters - Preventing falls”

Caregiver Care, a program designed by Century Health Systems
and the Natick Council on Aging, aims to serve family caregivers in the MetroWest area. It was designed to
provide support and technical skills to individuals who provide care to a
family member or friend without compensation. 





This program will be run by Deborah Lavin Strzetelski,
MSPT, Physical Therapist with the Natick Visiting Nurse Association. Her areas
of expertise include home care, geriatrics, balance and fall prevention,
orthopedics and vestibular rehabilitation.





In her presentation, Strzetelski will

She will deliver understandable explanations of balance systems in the body
and environment. In addition to a lecture, she will also demonstrate
exercises which help maintain the body’s balance systems. 





After
the skill-building and education, lunch will be provided, and supportive discussion
will be facilitated by Natick Human Services & Council on Aging clinical
social worker, Christina Player.





The Caregiver Care Program is available
through grants provided by the Tufts Health Plan Foundation.





There
is no fee to attend, but registration is required.
