For the first time in Natick Little League history, parents and players will be asked to put their skis and snowboards aside for a day in the middle of winter to sign up for their favorite warm weather sport. Registration for both baseball and softball will be offered this Saturday, December 15th.
Little League organizers hope that starting the process sooner will help get the word out to more kids. “We have more than 110 teams to organize and over 14-hundred kids who want to play spring-league in March” says Joe Landry, President of Natick Little League, who adds sign-ups usually take place in late-January. “We want every child to have a chance to play. We need more time to plan and make the process a smooth one.”
