Travel & Taste Guyana: Atlantic to the Amazon
Guyana is a wild part of northern South America where endemic birds like blood-colored woodpecker and Guiana toucanet are rivaled only by unusual mammals including the giant anteater and giant armadillo. The only English-speaking country in South America, habitats include the Rupununi savannah, adjoining Venezuela and Brazil. In the Pakaraima Mountains, 741 foot Kiaeteur Falls descends from a tepui, a limestone plateau with rare plants and animals like the golden frog, which lives only in giant bromeliads. Join us for photos and video showcasing the magnificent wildlife of Guyana such as the harpy eagle, red and green macaws and the traditional culture of the local Amerindian communities.
Location-themed buffet dinner and lecture or lecture only (7:30pm start). Pre-registration required for dinner by 6pm Tuesday, March 11. Online registration
