Travel & Taste Mexico: The Yucatan to Oaxaca, Birds, Food and more
The country of Mexico has long been famous as a destination full of birds, culture, and exquisite food. Given recent safety concerns, there has been reluctance among tourists to consider Mexico as a viable option for travel. However, many areas are as safe and wonderful as ever. In this talk, Luke Seitz will be reliving a 3000-mile birding road-trip through the southern parts of the country, where he saw nearly half of Mexico's 1100 bird species in three short weeks. He will be sharing his amazing images, HD videos, and stories from the adventure, highlighting such gems as Rosita's Bunting and Pink-headed Warbler, "real" Mexican food like mole and quesillo, and the oh-so-terrible speed bumps, or "topes", that threaten (and succeed) to wreck even the toughest of rental cars.
Location-themed buffet dinner and lecture or lecture only (7:30 start). Pre-registration required for dinner by 6pm Tuesday, January 28. Online registration
