Sporting goods stores in greater Boston are planning special hours for Wednesday night and early Thursday morning in the event the Red Sox win the World Series.

The stores will have World Series champion T-shirts, hats and other gear for sale if the Red Sox win game 6 to become World Series champions. The first pitch is scheduled for 8:07 p.m. at Fenway Park.

Dick’s Sporting Goods, including its location next to Liberty Tree Mall, also plans to open immediately after a World Series win for the Sox. Its Danvers, Saugus, Natick, Brockton, Hanover, Northborough, Worcester, Leominster and Millbury stores will be open from midnight until 2 a.m. on Wednesday night and reopen again at 6 a.m. if the Sox win, according to Kelly Jorgensen, a Dick’s spokeswoman.

The Sports Authority also plans special hours for several greater Boston stores if the Red Sox wins. The store at Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers as well as locations in Somerville, Watertown, Framingham, Braintree, Woburn, Milford and Mansfield will open immediately after a win and stay open “as business demands,” according to Sports Authority spokeswoman Patricia Jimenez.

At Bob’s Stores, most locations will open early at 5 a.m. on Thursday if the Sox win. The store in Framingham, and possibly other locations in New England, will open on Wednesday night if the Sox win. A complete list of stores with special hours was not immediately available from Bob's officials on Wednesday afternoon.

Three locations of Modell’s Sporting Goods – in Medford, Saugus and Nashua, N.H., will all open right after the game on Wednesday night if the Red Sox win.

“Those four stores will open immediately after the game and stay open until business subsides,” said Jason Karlowski, head of marketing for Modell’s.

Those stores will again open on Thursday at 5 a.m. if the Sox win.

The remaining Modell’s stores in New England, including the location at North Beverly Plaza, will open at 6 a.m. on Thursday after a Sox win, he said.

The Natick Outdoor Store plans to have merchandise available Thursday afternoon if the Red Sox win Game 6 tonight.
