Mary Lou Burns Has Died at 65

The former South Natick resident was grandmother to two.

Mary Lucille (Huard) Burns, 65, of Framingham, formerly of South Natick died Saturday, September 8 at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She was the beloved wife of Gordon E. Burns with whom she shared 41 years of marriage.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Stephen A. and Flora A. (McDonnell) Huard. Mrs. Burns was employed as a teller at several area banks, most recently Citizens Bank.

Mary Lou was known for her generous nature, kindness, willing and ready to help anyone in need. She had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed mystery novels, playing jeopardy with friends and traveling to the Cape for summer vacation. Her family was her greatest joy, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son Matthew E. Burns of Minneapolis, MN, one daughter Kristin E. Burns of Boston, two grandchildren Harper Burns and Finian Burns, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Francis Huard, Ronald Huard, Alfred Huard, Lee Carr, and Patricia Huard.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 9 a.m. from the , followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in at 10 a.m. Visiting hours are Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be at . Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
