Natick Loses Lifelong Resident, Community Volunteer

Russell Brown has died at 69.

Russell Main Brown, a lifelong Natick resident, passed away on August 30, at the Metro West Medical Center in Framingham. He was 69 years old.

Son of the late Lawrence “Larry” and Bernice (Main) Brown, Russ was employed in sales, working for over 25 years at NFIB (National Federation of Independent Businesses). He was an avid clam digger, fisherman, golfer, inventor, and phenomenal cook, who enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod and with his family. Russ was also an active member/leader with the Boy Scouts, the, and a coach in the Natick Little League.

Russ is survived by his 3 devoted children, Eric Brown and his wife Karen of Westborough, Philip Brown and his wife Betsy of Natick, and Chrissy Potochniak and her husband Bill of Natick. He was the cherished grandfather of Amanda, Brayden, Caleigh, Brandon, Amelia, and Tyler, and is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his brother David L. Brown.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the on Thursday, September 6, at 9 a.m. to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in at 10 a.m.. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 5, from 4-7 p.m. Donations in his memory can be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
