Susan began her long career with New England Telephone, starting as an operator right after high school. She married and started a family, living in Newton prior to settling in Natick.

Northborough — Louis “Lou” Burke, 88, died peacefully at home on Saturday, July  6, 2013, with his loving wife Mary and family by his side.

In retirement, he volunteered by helping disabled veterans. Lou especially enjoyed his time at Davidian Bros. Farm assisting children and adults picking out the best Christmas tree. Lou proudly served his country in the Navy during WW II overseas in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.

Natick — Jennifer (Davey) McConathy, Age 69, died peacefully at Sherrill House Nursing Home in Jamaica Plain on Tuesday evening, July 2, 2013, after nearly a decade enduring the ravages of Frontotemporal Dementia. She leaves behind her loving husband of forty-nine years Osbourne McConathy of Brookline, her son Jonathan, his wife Susan, and grandchildren Jake and Zane of Jamaica Plain.

Jennifer attended Loyola University in Chicago, graduated with a B.S. degree in Education from Boston State College, and earned a M.A. degree in English from Boston College. She was a dedicated and inspired educator, teaching sixth grade in the Natick Public Schools from 1971 to 2003. She took pride communicating a joy for learning especially in the subjects of literature, poetry, and nature.   

Shrewsbury — Michael M. “Mike” Kleminich, 86, a resident of Shrewsbury for 62 years, died July 5th following a long illness.

Mike was a dedicated teacher, coach and athletic director for 36 years in the Shrewsbury school system until retiring in 1988. He was also a long term coach of the Shrewsbury Quaranta Post American Legion baseball team, and is an inducted member of the Shrewsbury High School Hall of Fame as well as the Massachusetts coach’s Hall of Fame. Mike was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy stationed in Pensacola, FL.

Natick — Elaine A. (Natoli) Peschier, age 70, a loving wife, mother, Minkey, sister and friend, died on Thursday evening, July 4, 2013.  

Westborough — Ronald L. Wheelock, 83, of Westborough, died peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab. He was the husband of the late Joan M. (Greenfield) Wheelock. 

Ron was the owner of R & L Electric in Westborough and also owned Ron’s Guns. He was a member of the Woodville Rod & Gun Club, enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling with his son. 

Shrewsbury — Genevieve D. (Piotrowski) Kasper, 90, a longtime Shrewsbury resident, died peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Notre Dame Long Term Care  Center, Worcester.

She spent her life as a homemaker, and was most filled with joy when she was caring for and spending time with her beloved family. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Shrewsbury and enjoyed visiting the beaches of the south shore and Cape Cod.   

Natick — Michael R. Mahoney, age 62, a lifelong resident of Natick and devoted son, father, grandfather, brother and friend, died peacefully surrounded by love on early Friday, July 6, 2013, at his home.  

Mike was a 1969 graduate of Natick High School where he excelled in sports. He was a naturally talented cook and was employed for over twenty years as a chef at various restaurants in the MetroWest area. In 1998, he joined the Weston Public Schools as a custodian at the Weston High School, a position he relished until his retirement in March. 

Northborough — Leo Bombara, died on July 3, 2013, in Marlborough Hospital after being stricken ill at home. He was 92.

Bombara was employed as a tool and die maker at the Boston Naval Ship Yard for 25 years until his retirement in 1974. From 1977-1985, he worked in the jet engines division of General Electric Corp. in Lynn. He most recently worked for Boston Scientific. He enjoyed woodworking in his retirement years. Mr. Bombara served in the Navy stateside during WW II.
