Obituaries: Donald Oulton, Jack Santos, Barbara Philbrick, Norman Bruneau

Natick has lost 4 longtime residents, including 2 veterans.

Donald Paul Oulton, Esq., 82 died December 19. Born in Kingston, NY, he was an Army veteran of Korea who served with the National Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery until his discharge. A resident of Natick since 1964, he attended Boston University and Suffolk School of Law. As an attorney, he served in the Middlesex County DA's office, and then with the US Air Force at Hanscom Air Base. He was Chief of the International Law Division of the Judge Advocate’s Office at the time of his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol, 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home on Friday, December 28 at 8 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Linus Church at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, 4 -7 p.m.

John A. “Jack” Santos 87, died Thursday, December 20. Born in Framingham, he was a resident of Natick for 52 years. He worked as a truck driver for New England Sand and Gravel Co. for 32 years. He was a decorated Army veteran of WWII, serving as a Demolition Specialist in several European campaigns.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lillian; 4 children, Edward L. Santos of Natick, Catherine A. Ledger of Plymouth, Donna M. Santos of Natick, and Joanne O'Brien of Natick; and 8 grandchildren. He was predeceased by son Jack in 2010.

His funeral will be on Friday, December 28 at 10 a.m. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Linus Church at 11 a.m. Visiting hours are Thursday, December 27, from 4 - 8 p.m.

Barbara Ann (McGowan) Philbrick, 78, died December 21. Born in Lynn, she was raised in Maine, settling in Natick in 1961. She was a teacher in the Natick High School business department until her 2000 retirement. She loved to sing and was a member of the Golden Tones.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jack, 3 children, and 5 grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, December 29 at 1 p.m., with burial to follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 28, from 3-7 p.m.

Norman A. Bruneau, 96, of South Yarmouth formerly of Natick, died December 22. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Emily, 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

His funeral will be from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home Thursday, December 27, at 9 a.m. to be followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church at 10. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7pm.
